Miklós Spányi

Miklós Spányi was born in Budapest in 1962. He studied organ and harpsichord at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, and later continued his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Flanders in Belgium and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. He has performed as a soloist across various European countries using five types of keyboard instruments: organ, harpsichord, fortepiano, clavichord, and tangent piano. He is also active as a continuo player in baroque ensembles and orchestras. He won first prize at the international harpsichord competitions in Nantes (1984) and Paris (1987). In recent years, he has focused on the study and performance of C. P. E. Bachʼs works, particularly dedicating himself to the revival of the clavichord. Additionally, he is editing some of C. P. E. Bachʼs keyboard solo works for the Könemann Music Budapest. Currently, he teaches at the Oulu Conservatory and the Sibelius Academy in Finland.
