This is a blog about this site, which introduces the lesser-known Emanuel Bach (C. P. E. Bach). This English version was translated from Japanese one by ChatGPT.
Shortly after creating this site (Japanese version), I translated the entire content to create an English version. By using ChatGPT, I was able to achieve this translation in a short period. Here, I will briefly explain the intention and method behind this.
Emanuel Bach is not well-known not only in Japan but also overseas. It would be a waste to leave the site accessible only to Japanese readers. Therefore, I decided to create an English version and make it available to the world.
Initially, I was translating by chatting one page at a time manually, but this was very time-consuming. So, I wrote a Python program to read the pages of the Japanese version and used the ChatGPT API to translate them into English, writing the results into the corresponding English version folder. Although ChatGPT sometimes omitted parts or did not translate as expected, by rewriting various instructions, I eventually managed to achieve a decent translation. Since I have only checked a portion of the results, there might still be some significant errors.
Additionally, parts quoted from CD booklets were originally written in English, so ideally, I should insert those directly. However, for convenience, I am currently including the re-translated text from Japanese to English.
